an email began over a month ago that is still being responded to frequently by the two of us. did you get this? did you remember this? do you think we'll need to take this? preparing for 6 weeks in a vehicle is a little tricky, if you can imagine. things that we'll know we will need, some things we'll need to take in case of an emergency, some things we won't think of that we'll need along the way. and that's what convenient stores are for! when you conveniently forget some necessity among your packing. to prevent this inconvenience, we've been racking our brains back and forth for a month trying to make sure we've got everything we need. here's our (very minimal) final list:
-covers/sleeping bags x2
-pillows
-atlas
-computers
-cameras
-cooler
-rags and towels for dishes
-2 forks, 2 spoons, 2 knives
-national park pass
-real books
-camper top
-camp stove
-dishes --> 2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 cups, 1 spatula, 1 cutting knife, cutting board, skillet, pot
-backpack
-first aid
-jumper cables/car first aid
-tent
-clothes
-bathroom stuff
-passports
that's a pretty solid list, if you ask me. anything not on there can either be bought or is not important enough to be remembered and therefore, unnecessary. many, many adventures are coming our way! this is our opportunity to share our experiences with you!
April 11th marks our departure from St. Louis. first stop: New Orleans.
It was just yesterday that Jana took her first steps and developed that independent attitude as a 2 year old. Before that it was Andy that pee'd and nearly puked on my face. My kids have grown into beautiful young adults!! The time on this trip will fly by while you two are on the road. I will miss you, but I look forward to reading the book! Love you both, Dad
